Committees

COME. CONNECT. GROW. SERVE.

It's a fact: You realize more benefits from your MPI membership the more time and effort you put into it! Jumping onto a committee is the best and fastest way to get involved in the work of the chapter, and there is always plenty of room for you! MPI:TN is divided into 4 main divisions that work together to bring our members a solid experience: Membership, Education, Communication, and Finance. These 4 are the arteries that keep our members engaged, education abundant, connections solid, and the marketplace fruitful. Service to your MPI:TN chapter is a professional development tool you can utilize for both personal and professional growth. Sound interesting? Learn more below about the ways you can become involved. Any member of our Board of Directors will be happy to tell you how their involvement with MPI:TN has enhanced their skillset.

Would YOU like to join a committee? If so, download the MPI:TN Committee Interest Form and send it to Maureen Wilde at maureen.wilde@marriott.com. For more information you can contact Maureen at 615-218-8518.

FUSION COMMITTEE

If you want to become more involved as a volunteer, we are looking for you! FUSION is our biggest event of the year, featuring our largest fundraiser of the year: The FUSION Auction! Securing items for this event will be starting soon. We are looking for several committee positions and 2 Auction Co-Chairs! Please contact Susan Raque, Dir. Of Special Projects to see what is involved!! sraque@frenchlick.com

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

What does the Membership Committee do?

Being involved in a committee is a great way to get to know other MPI members and get more value and R.O.I. out of your membership. The membership committees concentrate on new member recruitment, retention, and regional growth. Our committee creates membership incentive programs, honours our members with awards and service pins as well as implements an Ambassador program for new members to welcome them to our chapter. For any additional information please contact our VP of Membership, Melanie Clifford at Melanie@dancingbearlodge.com.

EDUCATION COMMITTEE

Why join the Education Committee?

Our committee is responsible for planning approximately 8 monthly educational meeting events a year. We select the best venues, and the most exciting speakers who are entertaining but who will deliver strong educational content that will interest all of our Meeting Professional members. If you have an interest in producing meetings with a WOW educational factor we want you on our committee. With the resources MPI offers and our contacts our meetings will be the best. Continuing Education, Industry Day, Meeting Content & Logistics, as well as Fusion planning fall under the responsibilities of the Education Committees. Contact VP of Education, Beth Harmon at bharmon@gracefultables.com, for information about how you can become involved.

COMMUNICATION COMMITTEE

What is the Communication Committee responsible for?

The primary responsibility of the Communications Committee is to keep our membership informed of what's happening as well as promoting MPI to potential members. Communications is an integral component of the work that every other committee performs. You can play a vital role on the Newsletter, Website, Social Networking, or Community Outreach committee! For information about how to join the Communications Team, contact VP of Communications, Kenneth Zahn at kzahn@sheraton-nashville.com.

STRATEGIC ALLIANCE COMMITTEE

Why join the Strategic Alliance Committee?

The local chapter of MPI functions on the money received through sponsorship. These commitees recruit and maintain partnerships with organizations looking to advertise and sponsor MPI:TN activities and publicaitons. The annual Fusion Auction is also a role under the Strategic Alliance Committees. For information about being part of the big picture of keeping MPI:TN successful, contact our VP of Finance, Tressia Grant at tgrant@mtavinc.com.
